MORE ABOUT US

Executive Chef (Chief Cook & Bottle-Washer) Rich Treglia has had an love of cooking since he was a small boy, and began his career as a chef in earnest in high school, where he participated in the F.E.A.S.T. (Food Education and Service Training) program, earning a scholarship to college, from which he graduated with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. After college, Rich became an apprentice and joined the Chefs’ Association of the Pacific Coast, and before purchasing the Garden Court with his wife, Stacy, Richard had been the Executive Chef of the Green Hills Country Club for 5 years.

Rich leads a secret “other” life wherein he does a mean imitation of the Road Runner (“meep meep!”), cooks in a yellow apron adorned with Wile E. Coyote, and has salt-and-pepper shakers shaped like Looney Toons characters. But we wouldn’t tell anyone about that.

Stacy Treglia describes her role at the Garden Court as “manager, waitress, busser, dishwasher, marketing manager, p.r. hound, advertising executive, Maitre ‘d, accountant, reservation list wrangler, and personal masseuse to the Executive Chef, (but I don’t mind that last bit).” That would explain why all you can usually see of her is a couple of arms, a big grin, and a dustcloud, whirling about like the Tasmanian Devil (hmmmm.... a Looney Toon character...?). But we know that she loves it all to pieces...

After flirting with numerous majors in College, Stacy finally decided to major in everything, and graduated with a BA in Communications, Business Administration, and Humanities, with an emphasis in Interpersonal Communications. Phew! She has over 10 years marketing and sales experience, including four years in the wine industry, which makes her a natural for the California Wine Country, although we have heard rumors she is actually from Colorado.

Bleu joined the family in November of 1998 and has become the cafe’s primary welcoming committee. You can either find him holding court on the steps in front of the cafe or you can find him playing in the Dog Park located directly across the street.
